Make Friends with the World: Luodong High School from Taiwan Visits Houston Christian High School for Friendships

 National Luodong Senior High School with 25 students and two teachers from Luodong Township of Yilan County in Northeastern Taiwan, call on Houston Christian High School (HC) on April 16, 2013.  They are under the arrangement of Education Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Houston to conduct courses observation and languages exchange.

 
The head of HC, Dr. Steve Livingston hosts Luodon visiting group with a welcome luncheon.  They would have a chance to discuss the possibility of further exchange with principal Eileen Councill and Dr. Sam Mendizabal, the chair of foreign department.  The most important session of this meeting is to interact with those students in classroom who are learning Chinese in HC.  
 
Ms. Grace Chang, a Chinese teacher from HC expresses that HC is an independent, non-profit, coeducational, private day school which educates students in grades 9-12.  HC is famous of its George and Barbara Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders.  It is the only one high school in the United States with international student leadership program entitled in the name of George and Barbara Bush.  HC is training tomorrow's leaders with the solid values, global vision and communication skills. 
 
At the end of this visit, director Sophie Chou gives each student from Luodong High School a Texas T- shirt as a memory of Houston.  On the other hand, she presents Certificates of Friendship to those students who are learning Chinese in HC that certify they have been recognized as the forever friends of her office.
